Born in Bogotá, Julián began his career in filmmaking by entering the Escuela de Cine y Televisión at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2003. During his years in film school he developed a special interest in writing, research and documentary filmmaking. After obtaining his BFA in Film and TV Production, he worked as a producer and editor of corporate videos. In 2010 he came to the MFA in Media Arts Production at CCNY to pursue his interest in documentary filmmaking.
