Initiator and director of Cinema South Festival, Chief editor Cinema South Notebook magazine and the Curator Book of Cinema South Festival. Producer/ director : 2011 War Matador , 2006 - Matador of Love; 2005 - Men on the Edge – Fishermen’s Diary; 2002 -Eva; 1997- The First will be the Last. His PhD thesis explores the father's figure in the modern European Journey films.

TC Rice began as a popcorn pusher at a local movie theater and worked his way up through local cinemas and film festivals into the distribution world of motion pictures. He has been everywhere and done about everything that there is to do in the business of motion pictures. As a distributor he began at the Samuel Goldwyn Company and moved on to work for or consult with other independents such as Hemdale, Stratosphere, Manhattan Pictures International and has worked on, or been responsible for, the distribution of such films as varied as THE CARE BEARS MOVIE, BAD LIEUTENANT, THE THIEF, ENIGMA, ONE TOUGH COP, THE SECRET LIVES OF DENTISTS, and OFF THE MAP. Recently he has overseen and coordinated the release of Melvin Van Peebles’ CONFESSIONSOFA EX-DOOFUS-ITCHYFOOTED MUTHA, and Patrick Wang’s IN THE FAMILY, and in association with Wildcat Releasing such films as THE CELESTINE PROPHECY, TORTILLA HEAVEN, KABLUEY and others including Andrzej Krakowski’s LOOKING FOR PALLADIN. Additionally he has served on the Boards and/or advisory Boards of numerous film festivals (Galway, Cleveland Independent, The Craic, etc.), and has worked as an independent contributor to numerous industry publications.

NANCY SAVOCA



Nancy Savoca has been making movies for over 20 years. Her first feature, TRUE LOVE (MGM/UA), won the Grand Jury Prize at the 1989 Sundance Film Festival.

DOGFIGHT (Warner Bros.) a love story about a marine and the girl he takes to an ugly date contest, starred River Phoenix, Lili Taylor. HOUSEHOLD SAINTS (Fine Line), with Tracey Ullman, Lili Taylor, Vincent D’Onofrio), is a mystical tale of 3 Italian-American women. It won several Spirit Award nominations. HBO’s IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK (Demi Moore, Sissy Spacek, Cher), a look at abortion rights, received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. THE 24 HOUR WOMAN, a comedy about career and motherhood, starred Rosie Perez and Marianne Jean-Baptist and was nominated for an ALMA (American Latin Media Arts) award for Directing.

REBEL WITHOUT A PAUSE: Unrestrained Reflections on September 11th (7th Arts Releasing) premiered on September 11, 2002 at the Toronto Film Festival. DIRT (Showtime), a ‘dramedy’ about immigration and class differences in NYC won Best Director (LA Latino Film Festival) and Best Actress (Cinema Fe Festival) and a nomination for Best Screenplay (Writer’s Guild of America).

Savoca’s most recent film, UNION SQUARE, is the story of a reunion between two estranged sisters. It stars Mira Sorvino, Tammy Blanchard and Patti Lupone. It will be in theatres Summer 2012.
