Longing

Fiction

Joe works as a bouncer in a heavy metal bar and lives with his girlfriend, Laura. He receives a phone call from his sister telling him that their mother has died and asking him to do the unthinkable: come home. In a tangle of work, guilt, and depression, the already-sizable emotional distance between Joe and Laura grows.
