Born in Newark, New Jersey, Dan started his life in film as an actor. While pursuing his acting career he became keenly aware of the need to tell the stories of people who are traditionally over looked by the mainstream. In the of spring 2010 he decided it was time to become part of the solution. He enrolled into the MFA program in Media Arts Production at CCNY to acquire the skills to become a documentary filmmaker.
